Oral Dilemma

I can choose any text on any topic in any genre. Help!

I've read George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four recently and it was stunningly crafted, profound and deeply moving - i.e. hard to do a great oral on. On the other hand, I could do something like take a well known popular text - The Da Vinci Code, perhaps - and analyse the methods (both good and bad) used in writing it and why it has become widely read. Or there's this other book that I've been reading, Boyhood, which is about the childhood of a boy in South Africa (that we grudually learn to be that of the author). The style of that one is a bit unorthodox and so it might make a good oral from that point of view. But then I'd have to stop labouring through our turgid class novel and finish that one.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Films? Bits of poetry? I really need to decide now...

Hmm that reminds me...
Greta, would I possibly be able to borrow Grave of the Fireflies from you? I think I'm going to do my oral on it... though I'm not sure if our class room has a DVD player. Oh well! I'd love you ever so much!

yeah just for a couple of days. I thought about deleteing Jo's ET post (or rather asking jo if she thought it would be best) and putting that whole episode away but... I didn't.

Ok so that didn't work at all. But you'll forgive me for wanting to try something. Hey, at least it got a few posts in ahead of the one that got messy.

I don't know. Even interschool relationships are a bit dodgy...

In saying that, I apologise to anyone who felt the wrath of my lack of sleep today. Sorry, and I promise I will try to get more in the future.
